The Closest Closet terms of use…..in plain English.

ClosestCloset.Com is a classified ad service that allows members to create unique personal profiles and listings in order to find and communicate with members in their communities.  By using Closest Closet, you are agreeing to our terms of use, and promise to abide by them.  You will need to re-affirm your understanding of this agreement when placing ads on ClosestCloset.Com.   This Agreement sets out the legally binding terms for your use of ClosestCloset.Com and your membership.

ClosestCloset.Com may make changes to this agreement from time to time, depending on situations that may or may not arise as members become acquainted to using this service.  Changes will be posted on the terms of use page, and you are expected to review them from time to time, depending on your use of the service.

Please choose the information you post on ClosestCloset.Com carefully. Any photographs posted by you may not contain nudity, violence, or offensive subject matter.  If information provided by other ClosestCloset.Com Members contains inaccurate, inappropriate or offensive material, products or services, ClosestCloset.Com assumes no responsibility nor liability for this material, but please send us an email so we may remove it.

ClosestCloset.Com reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to delete any material posted by you, and we may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to all or any part of the Website and/or Services at any time, without notice, if you are found to be breaking the rules.

By participating in any offline ClosestCloset.Com event, you understand and agree that Closest Closet has no way to verify that the information in any ad is correct.  You may not try to sue us because someone lied about an event and you got hurt.  The responsibility to maintain personal safety is yours and yours alone.

You are solely responsible for your interactions and communications with other Members. You understand that ClosestCloset.Com does not in any way screen its Members, inquire into the backgrounds of its Members, or attempt to verify the statements of its Members.  We cannot guarantee the conduct of Members or their willingness to cooperate with any current or future Members.

We do recommend that if you choose to meet or exchange personal information with any member of ClosestCloset.Com then you should take it upon yourself to check references, read feedback information provided on the site if available, interview the member directly or indirectly, or even perform a background check on said person if warranted.

In no event shall ClosestCloset.Com be liable for any damages whatsoever, whether to property or your person, ever.

By using Closest Closet, you agree that all registration information you submit is truthful and accurate and that you agree to maintain the accuracy of such information. You also agree that you are 18 years of age or older and that your use of ClosestCloset.Com does not and will not violate any laws or regulations. Your profile may be deleted without warning, if it is found that you are misrepresenting your age.

Your Membership is solely for your personal use, and you may not authorize others to use your account, including your profile or email address. You are solely responsible for all content published or displayed through your account, including any email messages, and for your interactions with other members.  Parents may list items for children or teens, but should not provide direct access to the account.  Other account sharing circumstances are considered reasonable as long as one member is the primary account holder and willing to maintain access to the account, and communicate with other members on the account sharer’s behalf.

This Agreement shall remain in full force and effect while you use the Website, the Service, and/or are a Member. You may terminate your membership at any time by emailing admin@ closestcloset.com.  ClosestCloset.Com may also suspend your account temporarily if you fail to communicate with members when requested.

You are agreeing to meet the minimum ad requirement of 10 combined “Local Lending” and/or “Skill Sharing” classified listings in order to make requests of other members.  You understand and agree that these listings ensure a ready supply of items in local communities and that the success of any community is based on it’s members ability to share and connect with people.  You may place ads in any category, at any time, without meeting the 10 ad requirement.  Not having the requirement met only means that your access to making requests is blocked.

The Website is for the personal use of Members only and may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavors except those that are specifically in congruence with ClosestCloset.Com’s mission and goals, and/or have been given written permission from ClosestCoset.Com in order to do so.  An explanation of such exceptions have been explained on ClosestCloset.Com’s FAQ page.

Illegal and/or unauthorized use of the Website, including collecting usernames and/or email addresses of Members by electronic or other means for the purpose of sending unsolicited email or unauthorized framing of or linking to the Website will be investigated. Commercial advertisements, affiliate links, and/or other forms of solicitation may be removed from member profiles without notice and may result in termination of membership privileges.

ClosestCloset.Com owns and retains all proprietary rights of the Website and the Service. The Website contains copyrighted material, servicemarks, and other proprietary information. You may not copy, modify, publish, transmit, distribute, perform, display, or sell any such proprietary information.

By posting any Content to the Website, you hereby grant ClosestCloset.Com license to use and publicly display such Content on the Website at any time.

You may not request payment from any ClosestCloset.Com member for any services or items in your classified ads, or any other posts to the site except as where specifically allowed by purchasing advertising space.  In the future, some items may be bought and sold over the service.  The terms of use will be updated at that time.

You may not offer payment to any ClosestCloset.Com member for any services or items in your classified ads, or any other posts to the site except as where specifically allowed.

You may not transmit any chain letters or junk email to other Members.

You understand that if a member contacts you, and you reply, that your email address is then shared with that member.  Your email address is otherwise confidential.

Although ClosestCloset.Com cannot monitor the conduct of its Members on or off the Website, it is also a violation of these rules to use any information obtained from the Service in order to harass, abuse, or harm another person, or in order to contact, advertise to, solicit, or sell to any Member with or without their prior explicit consent. In order to protect our Members from such advertising or solicitation, ClosestCloset.Com reserves the right to restrict the number of emails which a Member may send to other Members in any 24-hour period to a number which ClosestCloset.Com deems appropriate in its sole discretion, or to terminate membership altogether.

You may not cover or obscure the banner advertisements on your personal profile page, or any ClosestCloset.Com page.

Any automated use of the system is prohibited.

You may not attempt to impersonate another user or person who is or is not a member of ClosestCloset.Com.

You may not sell or otherwise transfer your profile or account.

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other ClosestCloset.Com Members. ClosestCloset.Com reserves the right, but has no obligation, to monitor disputes between you and other Members. You may report users and/or posts to ClosestCloset.Com by emailing admin@closestcloset.com. We encourage this practice, as some Members may not be an appropriate fit for this Service.

ClosestCloset.Com is not responsible for the conduct, whether online or offline, of any user of the Website or Member of the Service.

ClosestCloset.Com assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, any user or Member communication. ClosestCloset.Com is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or players due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website or combination thereof, including any injury or damage to users and/or Members or to any person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading materials in connection with the Website and/or in connection with the Service.

ClosestCloset.com cannot guarantee and does not promise any specific results from use of the Website and/or the Service.

If there is any dispute about or involving the Website and/or the Service, by using the Website, you agree that any dispute shall be governed by the laws of the area in which we are based without regard to conflict of law provisions and you agree to personal jurisdiction by and venue in the area in which we are based.

This Agreement is accepted upon use of the Website and is further affirmed by becoming a Member of the Service. The failure of ClosestCloset.Com to exercise or enforce any right or provision of this Agreement shall not operate as a waiver of such right or provision.
