Heres one I heard on the facebook page:
making seedlings stand up straight.
Lori Rasmussen-Murray from our facebook page says:
“I collect them now to put around my young veggie plants in the garden…..it keeps the cut worms from chopping them off at the soil line!
Vanessa Morgan from our facebook page says:
I know people that stuff them with dryer lint and use them as fire starters when camping. Might try that ourselves if we camp this year.
Daycare centers collect these for crafts. If you know of any, place an ad in the wishlist section. There’s no reason to throw these things out. Plenty of people can reuse them. The firestarter idea? We could give them to nearby campgrounds stuffed full of dryer lint! Imagine how many we could keep out of landfills!
If you have a campground or a fire pit in your yard, wouldn’t it be nice if your neighbors saved these things for you?
I use them to wrap my ziploc bags around, toilet tubes for small bags and paper towel tubes for the bigger bags. Of course I also reuse my ziploc bags. Can’t remember the last time I bought new. I scarf them from my coworkers before they throw them out.
Use them for organizing- Christmas lights, ribbon, extra extension cords.
Use for kid’s birthday party favors by stuffing them with wrapped treats, twist and tie both ends with ribbon. 4th of July is coming: grab some of that red and white wrapping paper from Christmas and tie with blue ribbons and you have a cute firecracker!
I found a nice how to article showing how to re-use these to start seeds…this is really cool.
